FAQs

What will the weather be like in San Miguel de Allende?

Typical weather in San Miguel de Allende in October is lovely! Average high is mid 70’s (~75 degrees) with an average low of mid 50’s (~54 degrees). Daytime is very pleasant with the evening cooling off due to the elevation, much like desert weather.

Is there a gift registry?

Your attendance is gift enough :) … We do however have a honeymoon fund if you would like to contribute HERE. We are heading to Vietnam and house hunting in 2026!

What is the wedding dress code?

Cocktail Attire! Cocktail is a slightly more elevated dress code than semi-formal attire but is less formal than formal wedding attire (also known as black-tie optional). Be creative! No color is off limits. No pattern is off-limits.

Ladies - stilettos are not recommended, lean towards a platform or chunkier heel. Also a shawl or sweater is recommended for the evening time as it cools off a bit at night.

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

The ceremony will be held outside with dinner + dancing taking place inside.

Local Ground Transportation. What is the best way to get around SMA?

UBER! It works great and very inexpensive. It can take up to 15 mins to arrive however so just plan a head for any time sensitive travel via car.

Local taxis (the green ones!) are also very reliable and inexpensive. You need to have pesos in order to pay your taxis.

What are the tipping customs in Mexico?

  • Waitstaff / Restaurants: 10%

  • Porters: 20-50 pesos
